Eddy Smith

Eddy was chosen as an elder by the Laurel congregation in 2023. He and his wife Wendy met through a college ministry at Virginia Tech and were married in 1988. They served in college ministry in Tallahassee, FL,  moved to Tennessee in 1995 for Eddy to pursue a law degree, have been Laurel members since 2000, and have three adult children, Josh, Annie and Laurel. Eddy served on US Army active duty for two years after high school, graduated from Virginia Tech (B.A. in Economics and Classics), Lipscomb University (M.A. in Religion), and the University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D.), and has been a lawyer since 1998. Eddy’s passion is for folks to understand how much God loves them and those who seem different from them.
