Mike Taylor is Laurel’s worship music director, praise team/media coordinator, service planner, and resident worship music arranger and composer. He has been a member at Laurel since 2000 when he was completing his master’s degree in music composition at the University of Tennessee. Mike was a vocal music teacher for Knox County Schools and has worked as an adjunct music lecturer at Johnson University, technical writer, and media library coordinator in the Knoxville area. He currently is program scheduling coordinator with Scripps Networks Interactive in their home category of network programming (HGTV, DIY, and Great American Country). Prior to his work at Laurel, Michael taught band and chorus in Middle Tennessee and holds a music education degree from Austin Peay State University. Mike and his wife Cindy have three children: Will, Sam, and Julia.
