July Dates and Details

Trey will be on vacation 7/3-7/12. Please direct all LYF questions to Brooks and Ava during this time.

7/5: Devo at the Newby’s - 5:30-8:00pm. Dinner is provided. Click here to register so that our gracious hosts know how much food to provide. Trey will be at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Waterpark as this as happening, so direct all questions to Brooks and Ava. The Newby’s address will be sent out via remind on the day of the devotional. If you aren’t getting the remind updates make sure you download and check the app! If you still don’t see them their let Trey know so he can add you.

7/9: Car Wash - 10:00am at the church building. The plan is to serve Laurel/Justlead by doing a deep clean of all of our vans and buses. Depending on how quickly we finish there may be time for fun/food afterwards. Trey will be by the pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Walt Disney World as this is happening. So direct any questions to Brooks and Ava.

7/16: Dollywood with Justlead - We will tentatively plan on meeting at the church building at 8:30am and won’t be back until later. We plan to stay until the park closes. Students will need to bring $ for meals in the park. The registration deadline for this has passed, but if any students want to pay full price to purchase their ticket directly from Dollywood we should have room for them on the bus. Let Trey know if you didn’t register in time but would like to come.

7/19: Devo - 5:30-8:00pm. Dinner provided. Host needed!

7/25: Lake Day - 1:00pm-9:00pm on the Lain’s houseboat. We will meet at the Choto Marina. Students should have lunch before arriving, but we will eat dinner together on their boat. We’ll enjoy time together swimming and tubing in the lake. Students should wear a bathing suite and bring a towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Every student will be required to wear a life jacket while tubing. They will also be required to either wear a life jacket or hold on to a float while swimming in the lake. So if you have an extra life jacket or float you should bring that as well. Click here to register!

7/26: Devo - 5:30-8:00pm. Dinner provided. Host needed!

7/31: Slick City (Family Event) - Friday 7/31 Laurel Families will be going to Slick City Action Park from 5:45-7:30. Slick City is a large indoor playground full of slides of all sizes for people of all ages. The cost is $15 per person, which includes the special Slick City socks that are required to be worn by all sliders. Parents of all LYF students (grades 6-12) are encouraged to stay and visit while students play, or to purchase a ticket and enjoy the slides themselves! For kids going into the 5th grade or younger, at least one parent is required to stay for the duration of the event. Anyone who is staying but not playing does not need to pay. Put simply...you aren't allowed to drop off your child and leave unless they're in the youth group....but we hope all parents stay and play! Click here to register.
