Wednesdays and Sundays
We’re going to be reshaping the way we approach Wednesdays and Sundays with each gathering focusing on engaging scripture through the lens of Laurel’s new mission statement: Opening hearts, minds, and hands to the work of Jesus. Each week we’ll have one scripture that we will look at from different lenses during our weekly gatherings, diving deeper into it as the week progresses.
Wednesday Nights: Heart. Engage with the text emotionally. Introduce the text for theweek and make it stick. Answer questions such as, “What has God done for me?” And“What does God want for me?”
Sunday Mornings: Mind. Engage with the text in our minds. Ask questions of theweek’s text. What doesn’t make sense? What would we like to learn more about?Answer questions like, “How does this text fit into the bigger story of scripture?” And“What does this text teach us is true about God, us, and the world?”
Sunday Nights: Hands. Engage the text with practical application in mind. Answer the“when, where, and how” questions of putting the text to practice. Provide structure for holding one another accountable and equipping each other to be able to put the text into practice.
The weekly bible reading plan will include the main text for the week as well as othertexts with similar themes. This new way of structuring our gatherings will start Wednesday 5/21.

All parents who have never attended LYF 101 before are invited to attend, even if they’ve had students in LYF for years. Register here so we can know how much food to provide
