8/9 Parent Meeting Materials
We had a parent meeting after worship back on August 9. For those who missed it please click here to download all the shared materials, as well as an audio recording of the meeting.
One important thing that was announced is that everyone needs to fill out new permission to treat forms. You can find those linked above.
I also shared a parent questionnaire that I’d love for parents to fill out. The questionnaire is pertaining to things discussed at the meeting. Click here to access.
Fall Wednesdays
On Wednesday nights in the Fall we’ll be bringing back small groups with our focus being on cultivating three different kinds of key relationships: Friends, Mentors, and Proteges. To ensure we have time for small group discussion LYF will begin at exactly 6:45. BYO dinner and open gym will begin at 5:35 and end at 6:35.July Dates and Details
Fall Retreat
Our Fall Retreat will once again be the weekend before thanksgiving, November 20-22, at Smoky Mountain Christian Camp. The cost will be $85 which includes lodging, food, activities, and a t-shirt. The theme will be anxiety, and we’ll be joined by a couple of different counselors from Laurel that will help us explore the theme for the weekend. Like last year’s retreat, I want to give students an opportunity to ask questions about the theme. Students can submit a question in advanced by clicking here…or by submitting a question at the retreat.
November Dates and Details
11/1: Devo at Thomas House- From 5:30-8:00. Dinner will be provided along with plenty of time to hang out and enjoy one another’s company. The address will be sent out day of via Remind.
11/8: LYF Room Painting - We had originally planned on having a Leader Night on this date, but the LYF room needs painting after putting in the new flooring. So instead we’re going to use this time to paint the LYF room. More details will be announced soon.
11/11: Roots - A monthly whole church gathering on Wednesday nights during the school year. Dinner is served at 6:00. Worship, discussion groups, and testimonies begin at 6:45. The youth group forgoes our normal Wednesday gatherings in order to participate in Roots.
11/13: Family Game Night - Family ministry event. A casual evening of fun and fellowship for all ages. Bring your favorite board or card game. We’ll have a small bounce house and 9 square set up in the gym with tables for board games set up in the orange room. 5:30-8:00. A pizza dinner will be available for everyone who attends. Click here to register so we know how much pizza to get.
11/15: Jesus Practice - This will be our next event at the Sutherland Flats apartment complex. The event will be from 5-7. We’ll meet at 3 at the church building to load supplies. Setup at the apartment will begin at 4. Show up when you can!
11/20-22: Roots - Fall Retreat! Details and registration above!
11/25: No Youth group due to Thanksgiving
