LYF Update January 2026
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year LYF! I wanted to make sure and get all this information out before Christmas.
Spring Calendar Delay
With all the extra responsibilities on my plate during the Fall of 2025 I dropped the ball on planning out the full Spring Semester. We’re hoping to try some new things that aren’t fully fleshed out yet, but I’ll work on getting the full Spring calendar out at some point in January. In the meantime take note of the dates for January events as well as the save the dates in the bottom right of the newsletter.
Winterfest
Winterfest is LYF’s next big trip! The dates are 2/13-15, and the deadline to register is Sunday January 11. Click here to access the post with all the details.
January Focus
We’ll be spending the month of January diving deep into the book of Colossians. Our classes and bible reading plan will be focused around going through the book verse by verse. Click here to check out a video from the Bible Project outlining the book to prepare for our study.
Weekly Gatherings
Wednesday Nights: Hearts. Bring your own dinner at 6. Youth group from 6:45-8:00. We introduce the passage/theme for the week in a way that we hope resonates with students’ hearts. These times are for “normal” Wednesdays that are not 4 for 30’s or Roots. Dinner will be provided on 4 for 30 Wednesdays. Dinner is also served at Roots, but requires registering and paying.
Sunday Mornings: Minds. Bible class from 9:30-10:15. We dive deeper into the week’s passage/theme by asking questions of the text.
Sunday Nights: Hands. Jesus Practice Teams. Dates Below! We work towards application of the week’s passage/theme by discussing how the text calls us to live differently, we pray for each other, and we hold each other accountable.

January Dates
1/9 - Glow in the Dark Night: A fun night for students to bring their friends. Fun and games with black lights, glow sticks, and more! Pizza dinner provided. 6:00pm-9:00pm. Click here to register.
1/11 - Leader Night: 4:30-7:30 for adult and student

1/18 - Jesus Practice Host TBD: We’re trying to broaden our pool of potential Jesus Pracitce hosts! If anyone is interested in hosting please reach out and let me know!
1/21 - Roots: A monthly Wednesday night gathering for the whole church to share a meal, worship, and conversation together. LYF won’t meet on Roots Wednesdays as LYF students and families are encouraged to fully engage with Roots.

1/28 - 4 for 30: A monthly Wednesday LYF event where we meet from 6-8. Dinner is provided and it is free! We have 30 minutes to eat, 30 minutes to serve, 30 minutes to connect with each other, and 30 minutes to connect with God.
